THREE TRUTHS ABOUT OVERCOMING OBSTACLES

Why do some people get stuck while others overcome challenges to do great things? That’s what Chris explores in today’s solo episode.

Chris leans on his experience training corporate teams and coaching individuals over the past ten years to dissect the three truths he sees with people who are able to overcome the obstacles – great and small – that pop in our lives and make positive change in their lives to help them overcome these challenges.

We are always more capable of what we think we are. After the struggle and when the challenge has passed, most people reflect that ‘it wasn’t so bad’ or ‘why did I wait so long to make that change or take that action?’.

The truth is that we are bigger than any problem that comes our way. We can handle anything – any challenge, problem or situation. If we couldn’t handle it, it wouldn’t happen for us to learn and grow from us. Because that’s the real truth: all problems are meant to help us grow.

We are capable of so much…but settle for less

Ordinary things done consistently produce extraordinary results

The second truth is that ordinary things done consistently produce extraordinary results.

Too often we think to make our lives better and produce the results we crave, we need to make these massive, life-altering changes all at once – and so we delay because it seems so daunting. When the truth is that small, consistent actions are what truly makes the difference and leads to incredible results.

And the third truth about overcoming obstacles is that the only thing that really stands in our way of getting what we really want is the story we tell ourselves of why we can’t have it.

It’s the stories, limiting beliefs, internal dialogue and often limited perspective that gets in our way – not the external factors we often hold responsible.

The only thing that stands in our way are the stories we tell ourselves

Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right

Henry Ford spoke the truth when he said ‘Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right’.

We can always change the stories we tell ourselves.
