HOW TO ACCELERATE LEARNING WITH HOWARD BERG

When I was growing up as a kid, I wasn’t a big reader. In fact, I didn’t really enjoy reading….I think it was likely because I felt like a slow reader.
On closer reflection, I suppose the truth is I didn’t enjoy reading books. I was pretty good with magazines, or reading the daily stats in our local newspaper from all the sport events of the previous night. I could pour over that for a hour — who scored, who assisted, what team was now leading the standings.
Certain things, I guess, just grabbed my attention and it didn’t feel like reading.
And thinking back to it, one book that absolutely fascinated me, was the Guiness Book of World Records — How incredible! The world’s tallest man! Longest beard! Widest tree! Biggest ball of string (…which by the way…(Frank Stoeber started the World’s Largest Ball of Twine in 1953. In just 4 years the giant ball of twine weighed 5,000 pounds and stood 8 feet high. Stoeber gave the ball of twine to Cawker City, Kansas in 1961)
So I kinda double-geeked out when today’s guest reached out to The Ignition Show to see if we’d like to talk. Howard Berg is not just a prolific reader…he was named the World’s Fastest Reader by the Guiness Book of Records.
And what I appreciate about Howard’s continued commitment, as you’ll see, it’s not just about speed reading, it’s about accelerated learning.
“Reading is not the same as learning”
“You’ve got to know your intention in learning and reading”
My hope for our conversation today is it will take the lid off your assumptions about what you can learn, how you can learn more and how that will only accelerate your success in every area of your life.
Howard also has a special offer for listeners of The Ignition Show so stick around to get that at the end.
We all put limitations on ourselves and what we think we’re capable of. Listen closely to this episode and in just a few minutes you’ll be given ways to blast through those perceived limiations and step a little closer to your true potential.
Enjoy the conversation…
